Sport: Sutton United
Dan Wishart can't stay away from Gander Green Lane, and the Sutton United fans don't want him to! Apart from a year at Forest Green Rovers, where he helped get the team promoted into the Football League, he has been a regular in the Sutton team for four years. He made his debut on 15th November 2014, and scored his first goal for the U's a couple of months later.
Dan's career took him from Hayes & Yeading as a 17-year-old, to Hendon, Burnham, Alfreton, Margate and Eastleigh, with two further spells at Hayes, and mainly in the Football Conference/National League, the 5th and 6th levels of the football pyramid. In every team he played for he scored goals from his midfield position; a total of 28 in 243 games. He was also named in the National League South Team of the Year in 2016.
Born in Hillingdon in 1992, Dan is qualified to play for England. He has represented The Three Lions twice in international matches for the England C team, for players outside the Football League. He played in the team that beat Ukraine 2-0 in March 2016, but ended up on the losing side, 4-3, against Slovakia Under-23s later that year, in a match played at Sutton's ground. Dan has been touted as the next Jamie Vardy, and his fans will be cheering him on in 2019.
Come on, Dan - England needs you!
